The Marble Railway in Laas in the Vinschgau Valley, South Tyrol, can rightly be called a technical "wonder of the world," as it is a unique, one-of-a-kind construction located in an unparalleled setting (Stelvio Joch National Park). Furthermore, the Laas Marble Railway represents a technical monument of the highest standard, having operated in its original, unaltered condition since 1930. It is the last remaining railway of its kind in Europe in its original condition, and is also in industrial production. The continued preservation of the railway is currently at risk.

As part of the Marble Walks, interested guests can also tour the unique inclined railway.
