A Climb up the Ice in the Ortles Alps

Not to be missed are the falls above the Altkaser Wiesen, the gorge that the Plima stream runs through and the waterfall at Konzentschatter near trail n. 37 going towards the Marteller Hütte mountain hut.

Used by professionals for training purposes, the 9m high ice-climbing tower at the Hotel Waldheim Val Martello is also open to beginners where they test their skills and learn the rudiments of the sport—before attempting the real thing.
