The ascent begins at the Hintermartell car park and initially follows the signposted path to the Zufallhütte. After the hut, turn left onto path no. 150 and head uphill to the old dam. Continue to the fork in the path before the Butzenbach Bridge; there, take path no. 41 into the Butzental valley and then continue on path no. 41A towards the Mutspitze. Follow the markings and cairns across grassy and rugged terrain. The final 100 metres of ascent are somewhat steeper. Crossing the summit plateau and passing the historic stone walls, you’ll reach the new summit cross after a short descent. There, an impressive panoramic view of the Martell glacier landscape and the Zufritt reservoir awaits.
