Solda – Madriccio Pass – Val Martello (3.123 m)

This historic mountain pass crossing is widely considered one of the most scenically stunning high-alpine tours in the very heart of the Stilfserjoch National Park. The demanding route connects the mountaineering village of Sulden with the pristine high Martell Valley via the breathtaking Madritschjoch pass, which sits at a proud 3,123 meters above sea level. Throughout the entire ascent and crossing, you will hike in the immediate presence of the mighty glaciated giants Ortler, Zebrù, and Gran Zebrù, making this tour an unforgettable experience amidst the most spectacular glacial scenery in the Eastern Alps.

Directions

The high mountain tour from Solda across the Madriccio Pass starts at the Rifugio "Schaubachhütte". Take the slightly steep path to Madriccio Pass where you can enjoy a fabulous panoramic view. Marvel the mountains Ortler, Zebru and Gran Zebru as well as at the glaciers around Cima Cevedale and Monte Cevedale. For the descent take the path to Rifugio Martello and Rifugio Nino Corsi to the Enzian car parking.
