Natural and cultural sights in the Schnalstal Valley
The many attractions in the Schnalstal Valley and its surroundings cover a wide range of themes. Starting at the valley entrance with Juval Castle and its museum, to the impressive mountain church – the pilgrimage church of Unser Frau. A visit to the archaeological open-air museum archeoParc becomes an educational experience, while in the quiet village of Karthaus you can still feel the spirit of the former Carthusian monastery.
A special highlight is the spectacular archaeological discovery site of the glacier mummy Ötzi. The botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle east of Merano, featuring more than 80 garden landscapes from around the world, are also extremely popular.
