Tradition, Ötzi and Hollywood
Centuries-old farms surrounded by blooming gardens reflect the pride of their owners in their traditions and heritage, passed down through generations. Many customs, such as the crossing of the Alpine ridge by shepherds and their flocks, are still preserved today.
The discovery of Ötzi, the Iceman, has also provided valuable insights into life during the Stone Age. The contrasts between eternal ice, rustic farmhouses with their dark wooden structures, ancient traditions, wild nature, and a down-to-earth cuisine and craftsmanship have turned the valley into a treasure trove for film productions of all kinds – from commercials to Hollywood epics.
