San Martino in Monte-Uphill

A classic tour for bikers and racers to one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Val Venosta.

Start at the valley station of the San Martino in Monte cable car and follow the „St. Martin im Kofel-Tour“ MTB signposting along the Val Venosta cycle path until Castelbello. Cross the state road at the information office. Keep right to get to the San Martino in Monte road. Go uphill for 12.5 km – turn after turn and viewpoint after viewpoint – until you reach the San Martino mountain restaurant, Hofschank Oberkaser or Egghof for a well-deserved refreshment. No matter on which sun terrace you are – simply enjoy the sun and the view of Val Martello, the strawberry valley, the Ortler massif and Monte Cevedale (3778 m).
Tip: Start early! It’s hot on the asphalt road in summer!

Venosta Valley MTB map set
The three-part Venosta Valley MTB map set includes more than 100 tours, including ground conditions from Resia/Reschen to Tel/Töll, and from Ofenpass mountain pass into the Tiroler Oberland area in Austria and the Stelvio region.
From the beginning of April to the end of October, the bike shuttle service in Laces/Latsch and Val Martello provide a transport service to selected destinations all over Venosta Valley.
Ride Fair is a collaboration of shuttle companies. The cooperation was compiled and developed by the responsible parties for bikes in the Venosta Valley to provide maximum protection for nature and maintain the trails in a sustainable way. The four shuttle companies participating at the project are: Bike South Tyrol, Freeride Vinschgau, Mobil Car and Vinschgau Shuttle.
