San Martino in Monte-Uphill

A classic tour for bikers and racers to one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Val Venosta.

Start at the valley station of the San Martino in Monte cable car and follow the „St. Martin im Kofel-Tour“ MTB signposting along the Val Venosta cycle path until Castelbello. Cross the state road at the information office. Keep right to get to the San Martino in Monte road. Go uphill for 12.5 km – turn after turn and viewpoint after viewpoint – until you reach the San Martino mountain restaurant, Hofschank Oberkaser or Egghof for a well-deserved refreshment. No matter on which sun terrace you are – simply enjoy the sun and the view of Val Martello, the strawberry valley, the Ortler massif and Monte Cevedale (3778 m).
Tip: Start early! It’s hot on the asphalt road in summer!
Descent and connection variants: San Martino asphalt road, Annenberg easy trail (S1,) Tschilli trail (S2), Montesole trail (S2), Panoramic trail (S3)
