Hiking trails 1A, 3, 1B

Circular hike from Tschars to Juval Castle and back again to village Tschars

Directions

From Tschars railway station, walk uphill towards the centre of Tschars. There, follow signpost 1A to a farm track, where you’ll join the Schnalser Waalweg. From here, continue along the well-marked archaeological walking trail 3. The route then continues eastwards until the trail ends just below Juval Castle. A visit to Juval Castle is well worth it, as it houses numerous exhibits belonging to the mountaineer Reinhold Messner. The descent follows trail 1B, past the Sonnenhof, where you’ll reach the Stabener Waalweg, which takes you back to Tschars and on to Tschars railway station.
