For more than 200 years, South Tyrol’s mountains are ablaze every third Sunday after Pentecost. On Sacred Heart Sunday, hundreds of bonfires are lit on the tops of mountains which illuminate the sky at night. In Castelbello/Kastelbell this custom has been accompanied by a Sacred Heart procession since the beginning of the 19th century, and today is also accompanied by a marching band concert.

On Whit Monday, the traditional procession Three Holy Fountains takes places at a pilgrimage site above Trafoi. Naturno/Naturns, south of Castelbello, and in Morter the Sonta-Hons Procession is celebrated in early summer and local music groups play at these processions.
