Snoweshoehike to the Malga Lyfi

General description

This scenic snowshoe hike ascends up to the lofty heights of the quaint Lyfi Alpine farm.

Route description

The tour begins at the car park at the end of the Val Martello. Below the Enzian tavern, follow the trail no.8 to the Enzianalm. After you have crossed the Peder river, take trail no.39, leading up to the Peder-Stieralm Alpine farm. By now it´s time to strap on the snowshoes to ascend the steep and well-trodden trail to the highest point of the circular hike, the Peder-Stieralm. It is now an easy hike on trail no.35 to the Lyfialm. Enjoy magnificent views of the peaks of the Ortler range at the far end of the Val Martello. Arrived at the Lyfialm, forest trail no.8 leads you back to the car park (this stretch can possibly be done without snowshoes).
