BASIS Vinschgau Venosta
Innovation and Cultural Center in Schlanders/Silandro
BASIS is a social innovation hub—a place where people work together on new solutions for society—with an event venue in Schlanders/Silandro, right in the heart of the Vinschgau valley in South Tyrol and just a few minutes’ walk from the train station. Located in the former Drusus Barracks, BASIS brings together culture, creativity, education, entrepreneurship, and issues shaping the future of society. A meeting place off the beaten path of traditional tourist attractions: a place where regional creativity, contemporary culture, and new ideas come to life within striking architecture. The former military building has been repurposed and transformed into an open space for encounters, exchange, and experimentation.
The program is aimed at people who want to discover the Vinschgau valley not only for its scenery but also for its culture. Concerts, exhibitions, movie nights, festivals, club nights, workshops, markets, lectures, and open-format events bring together locals, visitors, creative professionals, families, and culture enthusiasts. Especially in the summer, BASIS invites you to enjoy relaxed evenings: Every Thursday evening, the OASIS events take place—outdoors, with free admission, featuring aperitifs, good vibes, and a varied cultural program ranging from DJ sets and live concerts to lectures and other events. During the winter months, the KASINO Kulturclub becomes the heart of BASIS: a unique indoor venue set within the charming walls of the old barracks, equipped with high-quality sound and lighting technology for concerts, club nights, theater, movies, and conferences.
In addition to its cultural program, BASIS also serves as a workspace and hub of opportunity: featuring coworking—a shared workspace where people can work flexibly on their projects—as well as workshops, studios, seminar rooms, project development, and European networks. This is where ideas related to the circular economy, revitalizing vacant properties, culture, and regional development take shape.
Visitors to BASIS experience the Vinschgau valley from a new perspective—creative, urban, open, and full of fresh inspiration.
