Positioned in the heart of Europe, South Tyrol as well as the Vinschgau Valley holiday area has a good train network, with connecting trains from Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), as well as Deutsche Bahn (DB).

The Venosta Valley is easily reached by train via the Brenner Pass and Merano. Alternatively, there are also direct train connections from Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Vienna, Zurich or Graz to Innsbruck or Landeck.

The night train operator "European Sleeper" is organizing a new connection from Brussels to Bolzano/Bozen for February and March 2025. Departure will be at 7:00 PM from Brussels, with arrival in Bolzano the next day at 11:00 AM. The return journey from Bolzano to Brussels is equally straightforward, offering a flexible way to plan your trip. On certain days, the train will run as far as Innsbruck and, in some cases, even further to Venice. The night train will also serve additional stops in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, including Breda, Eindhoven, Venlo, Cologne, and Munich. In South Tyrol, the train will stop at the stations Brenner, Brixen, Waidbruck, and Bolzano.

With the ÖBB Nightjet trains, you can travel overnight in a climate-friendly and comfortable way to the Venosta Valley from Amsterdam to Innsbruck. 

From from Zernez in Switzerland Venosta Valley can be reached by PostBus. Another option is the Südtirol-Express, a comfortable Swiss long-distance bus connection, which from spring to autumn drives from Switzerland to South Tyrol and the Venosta Valley every Saturday.

Once in South Tyrol, DB/ÖBB train travelers can use the "Anschlussticket Südtirol", a ticket that allows travelling with public transportation to get from the train station to their accommodation and vice versa on their day of arrival/departure.

Südtirol Bus offers a train station transfer to the booked accommodation and back. All stations along the Brenner line are served hourly. In addition, the stations of Landeck, Innsbruck, Munich and Garmisch are also served several times a day. The collective transfers can be booked online. Bookings are accepted until 1 pm the day before.
