In the Vinschgau valley, you’ll find the Ortler, South Tyrol’s highest mountain at 3,905 meters, framed by the untouched landscapes of the Stelvio National Park and the Texel Group Nature Park. Mountaineering on impressive 3,000-meter peaks or hiking along historic irrigation channel paths "Waalwege", the sunny Sonnenberg mountain, and to alpine pastures and refuges. With the Adige Cycling Trail along the historic Roman road Via Claudia Augusta, natural trails for (E-)mountain bikers, famous road cycling routes like Italy’s highest mountain pass Stilfserjoch, and wide, perfectly prepared slopes for skiing, plus classic ski tours through pristine winter landscapes, every day is an adventure. Cultural highlights such as the UNESCO intangible heritage "Transhumance", the famous place of discovery of Ötzi, the glacier mummy, numerous castles and fortresses, tell the stories of a region that for centuries has been a melting pot of cultures from Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. Active, nature, culture

Golden larch forests, crisp mountain air and sunny days: autumn reveals the many sides of Val Venosta. Explore the landscape on historic irrigation channel paths, while varied trails and routes along the Vinschgau valley's Sonnenberg/Monte Sole invite you to discover the area by bike. Surrounded by the impressive mountains of Stelvio National Park and Texel Group Nature Park, you’ll find memorable nature experiences and scenic mountain hikes.

Autumn also has its own special culinary charm: traditional ‘Törggelen’ brings together regional specialities, chestnuts and new wine with convivial moments and vibrant South Tyrolean customs. Whilst the autumn sun still ensures pleasant days in the valley, South Tyrol’s longest ski season is already getting underway in the high-alpine regions: at Alpin Arena Senales in Schnalstal valley from mid-September and at Sulden am Ortler/Solda all'Ortles from the end of October. Both ski resorts offer one of South Tyrol’s longest ski seasons, lasting until the beginning of May.
