The cableway San Martino accompanies visitors and hikers from Laces up to the mountain village of San Martino in Monte (1,740 m) in just a few minutes, making it an ideal point of departure for various types of journeys. Starting from here, there are numerous other trips to the crest of Monte Sole along easy trails such as the high-altitude path leading to Silandro.At the San Martino in Monte cableway mountain station is a restaurant, with scenic views down towards Laces and Val Martello and into the glacier world of the Ortler Group. There’s a 16th century shrine devoted to the a village of just 120 inhabitants, presumably built on a pagan holy site above a cave.
