Rice pudding

Place milk, lemon zest, salt, sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves and rice in a pot. Cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender but still slightly firm.
Remove the cinnamon stick, stir in the cold butter and sugar and mix well. Serve on plates and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Often served with browned butter as well.

Grandma’s creamy sweet farmhouse rice

For 4 people

1 l milk
1 pinch grated lemon zest
200 g rice
1 pinch salt
1 cinnamon stick
2 cloves
20 g butter
2 tbsp sugar
Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling
