To the three Holy Wells

The hiking trail to the Marian pilgrimage place "The three Holy Wells" is a special and cultural experience for the whole family.

General description

The three Holy Fountains in Trafoi are situated in a small chapel, which has been a place of pilgrimage for the Virgin Mary since the 15th century. The way to the place of pilgrimage is about 2.5 km long and always runs evenly, so it's suitable for baby strollers. In addition, the beautiful path to the Holy three Wells is accessible all year round.

Route description

From the national park visitor center "naturatrafoi" follow the signs "Drei Brunnen" to the church of Trafoi. From there continue to the campsite and then follow path no. 18 to the three Holy Wells.

From Spondigna/Spondinig via the street to the Stelvio Pass SS 38 to Trafoi. This peaceful pilgrimage site lies approx. three kilometers from the village of Trafoi and is a worthwhile destination for summer and winter excursions.

Park

In order to get to the three Holy Wells, the parking area next to the hotel Bella Vista is the most suitable. From there it is approx. a 40 min. walk to the place of pilgrimage.

Public transport

Those who don't want to travel to Trafoi by private car have the possibility to use public transport. With the bus line 271, you can get from Prato allo Stelvio/Spondigna to Trafoi in about half an hour. The bus stop is right next to the Hotel Bella Vista. From there is it approx. a 40 min walk to the chapel.
