The Almabtrieb, also known as transhumance, has been a major milestone in the lives of Alpine farmers for centuries, and today is one of the most important yearly events in Venosta Valley. The unique sheep train that leads cattle from the Ötztal summer pastures through the Schnalstal and Schlandrauntal valleys to Corzes/Kortsch attracts visitors from near and far.
