Forcola of Göflan

General description

Hike in the Stelvio national park with a varied view of the valley, the Monte Sole mountain, the Val Martello and the Covelano marble quarry.

Route description

Take the car and go from Schlanders to Göflan and follow the Monte Tramontana mountain road to Haslhof. Follow the "Kreuzjöchl" signposting and take the Val Martello high mountain trail to reach Forcola of Göflan. Enjoy he varied panoramic view of Lower Venosta Valley, Val Martello and Upper Venosta Valley with the Sesvenna Group above the timberline.

Continue westwards towards the Göflaner marble quarry (not visitable) and then on the Göflaner marble Trail until the managed Alpine Pasture and the so-called Kohlplätze. Return to your starting point passing by the Weisskaser alpine Pasture.

 

Description to arrive at destination

From Reschen or Meran to Schlanders/Göflan, from there continue the road high the Nördersberg to the Haslhof tavern.

Parking

The car can be parked at the Haslhof tavern parking place.

Public transport

By the Venosta train to Schlanders and by the Citybus to Göflan. Then you have to continue on foot to the Haslhof tavern - additional walking time about 2 hours.
