Weisses Rössl Lichtenberg    

For almost five and a half centuries, the Weisses Rössl Lichtenberg near Prad on the Stilfserjoch has been a place of hospitality. Once upon a time, merchants and coachmen on their way from Venice via Meran and the Reschenpass to Allgäu took up quarters behind the thick walls. Today, the house, built around 1480, is a small, fine boutique bed and breakfast hotel with just seven rooms and suites – and a jewel of the past, combining Italian design and the rich traces of history in the most beautiful way.
When you enter the Hotel Weißes Rössl Lichtenberg through the heavy wooden door with its large 500-year-old iron lock, you will find yourself in the hallway under a cross vault and see the stone staircase leading to the rooms on the upper floors. Immediately to the left is the authentically restored Gothic parlour, where guests enjoy their breakfast. And next door, the bar awaits in the former smokehouse: steel under a black-smoked ceiling with cosy corners in the adjacent former bread oven.
