Stelvio Pass: hiking paradise and skiing area in Venosta Valley
The high Alpine glacier skiing area of Solda/Sulden in the Stelvio National Park is set in the midst of the Ortler group, embedded in breathtaking scenery featuring 14 three-thousand-meter peaks. Surrounded by this spectacular mountain landscape of the Ortler massif, there are 40 km of ski slopes with modern infrastructure at up to 3,000 m above sea level.
The glacier ski area of Solda is open six months a year, from may to november. Next to many ski slopes, at levels ranging from easy to difficult, it also offers fresh powder snow slopes for freeriders and telemarkers, a fun terrain park with a half-pipe and boardercross for snowboarders and freestylers. Apart from skiing, nature lovers will find splendid routes for ski touring, up to the highest mountains at over 3,000 m in height.
