The traditional markets in the Vinschgau valley take place on specific days of the year and represent a
social event for locals as well as visitors.
In the spring, a popular
garden market is held in the small town of
Glurns/Glorenza and the
Londsproch market in Goldrain/Coldrano. In Mals/Malles,
the Georgimarkt market takes place in April, the
Garten- & Genussmarkt market in Kastelbell/Castelbello in May and the
Arcades Market of Glurns/Glorenza in June. The
St. Veit market in Tartsch/Tarces and the traditional
St. Johann "Sonnta-Hons" market in Prad am Stilfserjoch/Prato allo Stelvio follow. Visitors should also not miss the gourmet market and the famous
Palabiramarkt market in Glurns/Glorenza in September.
In the autumn the market series begins with the
Matthiasmarkt market in Prad am Stilfserjoch/Prato allo Stelvio. The traditional
Gollimorkt market in Mals/Malles takes place in October, which dates to the granting of permission by Catherine de Medici in the 16th century, as does the traditional
Lootscher Market in Laatsch/Laudes. Every year in November, the entire valley meets at the
Sealamorkt, the traditional All Souls’ market held
in Glurns/Glorenza. The
Katharinamarkt market takes place in the neighboring town of
Schluderns/Sluderno. A highlight of the upcoming Advent season is the
"Licht-Düfte-Klänge" Advent market in Glurns/Glorenza, but also the
Christmas Market in Schlanders/Silandro.
