On foot / for hikers
We recommend two scenic walking routes to reach the fishing ponds:
-through the Kiefernhain pine forest – nature trail: From Prad am Stilfserjoch, a pleasant walking path leads through the shady pine forest directly to the fishing ponds. The nature trail starts at the forest nursery in Prad.
-Via the Prader Sand: Alternatively, you can reach the fishing ponds by walking through the Prader Sand nature area, located below Prad’s sports fields. The Prader Sand is the sandy delta of the Suldenbach stream and offers a unique natural experience.
Ample free parking is available directly at the fishing ponds.
By public transport
The fishing ponds are easily accessible by the Vinschgau Railway. Get off at Spondinig railway station. From there, cross the River Adige via the new bridge and follow the path towards the fishing ponds. After approximately a 5-minute walk, you will reach the ponds and the restaurant by the water.
