Forest and wildflower honey (the nectar of the bees in the Venosta Valley) is 100% natural and varies considerably in taste. Moreover, in this most ancient of sweetners in the world there are over 200 healthy active ingredients. In South Tyrol alone there are about 40,000 bee colonies and as such, the massive natural ‘garden’ provided by the Venosta Valley apple orchards constitutes a vital resource pool for their propagation.

The high quality of the honey produced by the beekeepers of the Venosta Valley is now officially recognized. Herman Tumler together with Hubert and Renate Stillebacher all from Prato allo Stelvio/Prad am Stilfserjoch were awarded the coveted gold medal at the 9th South Tyrolean Honey Competition that takes place every 4 years.
