Tanas Tour
Mals - Tartsch - Schluderns - farms on the Sonnenberg - Tanas - Allitz - Laas - Tschengls - Prad - Glurns - Schleis - Burgeis - Mals
General description
Beautiful training session with uphills on the Sonnenberg of Schluderns and Laas
Route description
From Mals railway station, roll comfortably along the provincial road via Tartsch to Schluderns. Passing by the castle Churburg, the trail climbs slightly uphill along an asphalt road passing the farms on the "Sonnenberg". At the crossroad of "Gschneid", follow the signs to Tanas. Above Tanas, at an altitude of about 1.600 m, achieve the highest peak of the tour and enjoy the view of the mountain world, the forests and the apple orchards below.
A rapid descent follows to Allitz and on to the village of Laas, world-famous for its marble. In this direction, the route leads along the well-maintained cycle path along the Etsch river through countless apple orchards via the beautiful Vinschgau villages of Tschengls and Prad am Stilfserjoch toward Glurns. The route continues at the medioval city, uphill to Schleis and Burgeis to return via the main road to Mals for a well-deserved stop in the village center.

Cycling in Venosta Valley
With the period from March to late November offering ideal conditions for bike trips and excursions, the Vinschgau valley boasts the longest bike season in the Alpine region.
Dedicated bike points also provide specialised cycling services, including bike shuttles across the entire valley, guided tours and professional advice. The Vinschgau also
features a wonderfully effective bike hire network, with combined tickets enabling visitors to use public transport, hike bikes and even return them to different locations at no
extra charge. And of course, dedicated bike hotels provide ideal accommodation for cycling enthusiasts.
