Venosta Valley High Mountain Trail: Stava/Staben – Resia/Reschen

The Venosta Valley High Mountain Trail is a multi-day hike, running from the Lower Venosta Valley to the source of the Adige river at the Resia Pass in the border triangle. Needless to say, the route can also be explored in the opposite direction.

The Venosta Valley High Mountain Trail which has a length of around 108 km and combines various stages of the Monte Sole route, provides tranquillity for mountain and nature fans during contemplative hiking adventures in fresh mountain air – and mostly also nice weather and clear views to the high glaciers.
The multi-day tour leads along the steppe-like Monte Sole with its flora and fauna rich in species and a unique panoramic view to the Ortler Group. It runs along partly existing and partly new footpaths, partially also on the Venosta Valley irrigation channels or along old connecting paths between mountain farms.

The individual stages of the Venosta Valley High Mountain Trail are, however, also suitable for day trips, as the alpine trail can easily be accessed from the villages via ascents and descents. Each stage offers scenic, cultural, as well as culinary highlights.

The trail between "Patsch“ and „Zuckbichl“ is closed until further notice.

The Lasa citybus
The Lasa/Laas citybus line runs four times a day from Lasa to Cengles/Tschengls and the mountain hamlet of Tanas, perched on the slope of the Monte Sole mountain in the Venosta Valley. One of the most popular stages of the multi-day hike on the Venosta High Mountain Trail starts in Tanas, as does the renowned Tanas Reflection Trail (Besinnungsweg Tanas).
