S. Martino-Silandro high mountain trail

General description

The cultural highlight of the four-hours hiking tour from San Martino in Monte to Silandro are the derelict varlet farms, but also Schlandersberg Castle from the 13th century A.D. and the San Egidio church.

Route description

The sunny high route starts at the summit station of the cable car in S. Martino al Monte, offering a breath-taking panoramic view on Upper Val Venosta, Val Martello and the Ortles mountain range. The descent follows the Ilswaal irrigation channel to the church of S. Egidio down to Corzes near Silandro.
