Cengles/Tschengls Valley

Hike in the Stelvio national park with panoramic view of the opposite arid Monte Sole mountain.

Start at the parish church in Cengles and follow the "Untere Tschenglser Alm" signposting. The forest road takes you through the forest to a clearing with the Untere Tschenglser Alm Alpine Pasture (not managed) situated in the middle of alpine meadows in the Stelvio National Park and with panoramic views of Venosta Valley’s Monte Sole mountain. Return to Cengles on path no. 2 through the Cengles Valley until Kohlstattl and with view of the ruins of Cengles Castle.

The Transhumance in the Silandro and Lasa Holiday Area
The Almabtrieb, also known as transhumance, has been a major milestone in the lives of Alpine farmers for centuries, and today is one of the most important yearly events in Venosta Valley.
