Dossobello di Dentro

The mountain tour to the Dossobello di Dentro is relatively easy and has a beautiful view to the Ortler mountains.

General description

The Dossobello di Dentro/Hintere Schöneck is a beautiful mountain tour of about 12.5 km length. Arriving at the summit of the Dossobello di Dentro, especially the view of the Königsspitze, Zebru and Ortler is unique. For this relatively easy mountain tour, however, surefootedness and a good head for heights are necessary.

Route description

Starting from Hotel Marlet (path no. 19) through the forest up to the Malga di Vitelli/Kälberalm. From there follow trail nr. 25, past the Dossobello di Fuori, up to the Dossobello di Dentro      (3.128 m). Further along the ridge follows the steep descent to the rif. Serristori/Düsseldorferhütte (trail nr. 25A). From there continue (path no. 5) through the Zaytal valley to Solda to the starting point.

Description to arrive at destination

From Spondigna/Spondinig via the street to the Stelvio Pass SS 38 to Gomagoi, then left to Solda. In front of the Hotel Post is the parking area. From Spondigna to the parking area is it approx. 20 km.

Parking

In order to get to the starting point of the Dossobello di Dietro/Hinteres Schöneck, the parking area in front of the Hotel Post is the most suitable.

Public transport

If you do not want to travel to Solda by private car, you can use the pubblic transport. With the bus line 271 you get from Prato allo Stelvio to Solda in about half an hour. The bus stop is located directly at the Hotel Post. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the Hotel Marlet.

All the informations about the hike is without guarantee. Hiker should look at the weather forecast and plan the tour as best as possible. 

The descent to the Düsseldorfer Hütte should be avoided in rainy weather.
