Route description
From the train station in Mals beyond the centre of the village and the old country road to Planeil and Alsack. Uphill on a beautiful slope with view to the Mals Heath up to St. Valentin and the blue sparkling Haidersee. Across the main street in St. Valentin and below the cabel railway of the Haideralm along the cycle path towards Burgeis. Before the narrow barrage make a sharp right turn to a steeper asphalt path (no. 5A), driving shortly after in a shady wood along a forest road up to alp Platzer Alm (1,885 m), Schafberghütte (dilapidated) and the lake Pfaffensee (2,222 m).

Shortly after the Schafberghütte appears the romantically wild landscape and a short passage to the light blue cyan lake Pfaffensee. Enjoy absolutely the panorama.

Put up a little further at the timber paneled refuge Plantapatsch (2,145 m), located in the hiking and skiing area Watles. From the sun terrace you have a great view to the Ortler-Cevedale group and the culture region of the Venosta Valley.

The sailing goes along a gravel and logging road, which is used in winter as sled run, to the valley station and further along the old cart path to the Benedictine abbey Marienberg (1,350 m). Located as white impressiv construction, that is seen from a distance, above Burgeis. There along the cycle path to Burgeis towards Mals.
