The South Tyrol Guest Pass is your passe-partout, granting you free access to all public transport in the entire South Tyrol with just a single ticket. South Tyrol Guest Pass holders may use any of the following:
- the Venosta Valley Train and all other regional trains in South Tyrol as well as Trento (these trains are marked with an R on the timetable)
- city and regional busses (City Bus)
- the Swiss PostBus service between Malles/Mals and Müstair (in Switzerland)
- the Renon, Maranza, St. Genesio, Colle, Meltina and Verano cable cars, the Renon mountain railway and the Mendola funicular.
The South Tyrol Guest Pass can only be utilized by the authorized holder and is not transferrable to other persons. The ticket must be validated either prior to boarding (if the journey is by train), or at the start of each ride, without requiring the holder to specify the destination. Once you have activated your South Tyrol Guest Pass, it remains valid for the durations of your stay. The date and time ist stampdes on the ticket by the validating machine, as well as the expiry date. Children under the age of six years old, prams, baby strollers and luggage are all free of charge. A separate ticket is required for bigger dogs. Taxis and group transport rentals are not covered by the South Tyrol Guest Pass.
Advice: The train is not equipped for the carriage of many bikes. Rent a bike or use a bike shuttle, which can be used against payment of a fee.
For carriage of a bicycle in the train you need an extra all-day ticket.
