General description

The wonderful wooden irrigation channel set in Val Martello’s Selva is an attraction for young and old. It is ideal for a family excursion thanks to its marvelous location at the sunny slope.

Route description

The wooden irrigation channel, called "Kaandlwool", still fulfill its important function. It is fed by two sources rising in the so-called Sebelwald. The irrigation channel carries water all around the year. Every year on 24th June, feast day of St. John the Baptist, the source has its highest flow rate that lasts until the winter months. The irrigation channel is about 2 km long and mainly consists of excavated wooden trunks.
