The breathtaking mountains that build up on the valley, hide many adventures, one of them is surely the Marteller refuge, where you can find excellent food and accommodation. Just only its view is dizzying and conjures tingly anticipation in every stomach. The refuge is an ideal starting point for hikers and alpine mountaineering in summer. In winter and spring those who are seeking ski tours can find exciting routes and isolated landscapes in the surrounding mountains. Also for a leisurely day trip with South-Tyrolean cuisine the mountain hut is an ideal tip.

Traditional Cattle Drive
In the traditional cattle drive, cows and sheep are brought back down to the valleys from the Alpine meadows towards the end of the summer. This is how the Alpine pasture at the Resia Pass, but also in Upper Venosta Valley as well as around the Ortler area, marks the beginning of the autumn. In Val Martello and in Vallelunga/Langtaufers, Trafoi and Corces/Kortsch, this tradition is also cultivated and accompanied by popular festivals with tasty food and music.
