Schutzhütte Lyfi Alm

What would be the hut life without tipical specialities? Dumplings and "Schmarrn" or "Schöpseners" and apple strudel. the rural kitchen on the Lyfi hut is easy, natural and tastes just, therefore so especially well. With whole care and love we improve with priority product from home agriculture. If then in summer the cows spend her "summer holidays" on the hut, you can enjoy once more the taste of the natural fresh milk. On inquiry and advance order we serve also "Muas", sweet milk rice or milk soup.

Traditional Cattle Drive
In the traditional cattle drive, cows and sheep are brought back down to the valleys from the Alpine meadows towards the end of the summer. This is how the Alpine pasture at the Resia Pass, but also in Upper Venosta Valley as well as around the Ortler area, marks the beginning of the autumn. In Val Martello and in Vallelunga/Langtaufers, Trafoi and Corces/Kortsch, this tradition is also cultivated and accompanied by popular festivals with tasty food and music.
