Wonderful cross-country tacks for gliding along

The Val Venosta/Vinschgau holiday region is one of the top areas for cross-country skiing and biathlon in Europe. The vast net of cross-country tracks for beginners and ambitious cross-country skiers offers a suitable challenge for everyone. More than 80 km of groomed cross-country tracks await fans of this Nordic sport in the Val Venosta/Vinschgau holiday region.

Cross-country and Biathlon Centre Martello/Martell
The Cross-country and Biathlon Centre in Martello/Martell in Val Venosta/Vinschgau offers perfectly groomed tracks and the first electronic shooting range in Italy. Due to its altitude it is considered one of the most snow-safe areas in the entire Alpine region offering snow from November to the end of March.

Cross-country track Prato allo Stelvio/Prad am Stilfserjoch
The cross-country track in the valley basin of Val Venosta/Vinschgau in the village Prato allo Stelvio/Prad am Stilfserjoch offers an ideal route for beginners and advanced cross-country skiers. The artificial snow track is 2.5 km long and weather permitting the cross-country track is extended to 6 km.

High-alpine track Solda/Sulden
The high-alpine cross-country tack in the valley basin of Solda/Sulden takes advantage of natural snow due to the high altitude. Hence, this track attracts many guests in winter and spring. Thanks to the low difference in altitude this cross-country track is ideal for beginners. All the required equipment can be rented on-site.

Cross-country track Trafoi
The cross-country track in Trafoi is located at 1640 m above sea level with a length of 6 km. The track leads directly through the village of Trafoi and through a romantic spruce forest to the place of pilgrimage Tre Fontane Sacre/Hl. 3 Brunnen. Accessible from Christmas to Easter.

Nordic Ski Centre Slingia/Schlinig
The Nordic Ski Centre Slingia/Schlinig has specialised in cross-country skiing and was venue for the Junior cross-country World Championship in 2008 and the Italian Championship in 2009. 15 km of cross-country tracks (skating and diagonal - total difference in altitude: 230 m) for beginners and advanced cross-country skiers go from the village of Slingia/Schlinig to Schlinig Hut, where the hosts offer traditional snacks and drinks. The newly developed Nordic Ski Centre offers a changing room WC, ski school and waxing service.

Cross-country track S. Valentino/St. Valentin
The cross-country track S. Valentino/St. Valentin starts at "Hasenlift" and leads in the direction of Resia/Reschen over meadows to Stockerhof. Here the track crosses the state road and leads along the lake shore to the community recycling centre. After crossing the road the cross-country track leads in the direction of S. Valentino/St. Valentin through a forest called "Innerer Talaiwald", to the village and on to another forest called "Außerer Talaiwald" and to the fisher houses. In a large loop the cross-country track leads over fields back to S. Valentino/St. Valentin.

Three Nations Trail in Resia/Reschen
This track starts at the "Gandlan" lake shore. The track leads over flat meadows past the old village (Paese Vecchio/Altdorf) and in the direction of the border. The Resia/Reschen cross-country track offers the possibility of going to Nauders (Austria) or to return to the "Panzersperre" and from here to the right of the mountain in a round tour to Resia/Reschen.
The flat Curon/Graun round track starts at the playground in Curon/Graun. It offers several groomed tracks leading to the "Galleries" in the direction of S. Valentino/St. Valentin or to the car park at the tower in the direction of Resia/Reschen.

High-alpine track Vallelunga/Langtaufers
This varied high-alpine track starts in Vallelunga/Langtaufers-Melago/Melag at 1,912 m above sea level. National and international competitions take place here. On the northern side of the valley the track leads up to Melager Hut (open to the public). With some turns the track leads back along the southern side of the valley: the small round tour leads along the inflow of Melager River to Karlinbach River over a path back to Melago/Melag, while the large round tour continues out of the valley through the forest to Grub. Here it changes the side of the valley and leads back to Melago/Melag on sunny meadows.
