Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking in Upper Venosta Valley

Mountain Biking Around Malles Heath

With its varied landscape, the holiday region of Upper Venosta Valley offers numerous steep routes for mountain bikers and free riders alike. The well-marked trails run along the valley high into the Alpine pastures, through forests and meadows, some continuing higher up into the mountains. The single trails in the valley are suitable for beginners, while other tours are considerably challenging, requiring peak physical condition and considerable experience.

The twisting trails in the Upper Venosta Valley provide stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The cycling season along the first-class MTB trails in the sunny Venosta Valley usually starts as from early March until late November, due to the favourable microclimate. Guided bike tours are also offered by the South Tyrolean Bike Schools. The MTB routes are clearly marked and also feature on most GPS electronic tracking systems.
