The new high-alpine Val Venosta/Vinschgau hiking trail from Juval Castle to the source of the Adige/Etsch River at Passo Resia/Reschenpass
combines various stage finishes to a wonderful hiking adventure. The route is 108 km long and it leads along existing and newly developed paths,
irrigation channels, supply or connecting paths between farms. The high-alpine Val Venosta/Vinschgau trail leads mountaineers and hikers through a varied vegetation and a truly contrasting nature. The paths at Monte Sole/Sonnenberg with its varied vegetation characterised by pasture grass and herbs offers a great view of the highest mountains in South Tyrol and the fertile valley basin.
The individual stages of the high-alpine Val Venosta/Vinschgau trail can be done in one day or over several days. Every single stage provides a "highlight" from a landscape, cultural and of course culinary point of view. If you like you can also visit
castles,
churches and
museums after descending. Afterwards you can enjoy typical South Tyrolean food in the
restaurants of Val Venosta/Vinschgau. Traditional inns provide small snacks and in the guesthouses you can enjoy original South Tyrolean cuisine.
