Stilfser Joch National Park

Stilfser Joch National Park

The Nature Park in the Heart of Venosta Valley

Stilfser Joch National Park is one of the largest nature reserves in Europe. 40% of the park lies in South Tyrol. The entire Ortler-Cevedale mountain range, featuring the highest peaks in the country, is located within the park. As an alpine National Park, it houses all the typical form elements and habitats. From the valley floors at 650 meters above sea level, with expansive mountainous forests and meadows, up to mountain pastures far above the tree line, and alpine glacier areas to just under 4000 meters above sea level - all alpine climates can be found in the National Park.

The head office of the Stilfser Joch National Park administration is located in Glorenza/Glurns. There are also four more national park houses in Venosta Valley, which focus on specific aspects of this sensitive local ecosystem: naturatrafoi in Trafoi, aquaprad in Prato/Prad, culturamartell in Martello/Martell, and avimundus in Silandro/Schlanders.
