Snow Kiting

Snow Kiting in Venosta Valley

Adventure Sports on Resia Lake

Snow kiters looking for the ultimate in gliding freedom will find it at Resia/Reschen Lake, along with the smaller S. Valentino/Haider Lake, as well as around Malga S. Valentino/Haideralm ski resort and Belpiano/Schoeneben ski resort  at the three-country border to Austria and Switzerland. These are among the most popular spots for the international snow kiting scene.

On the 6 km-long and almost 1 km-wide Resia Lake snow kiters can reach top speeds as the famous Venosta Valley wind helps to drive the towing kite. Due to its altitude and size, the lake freezes completely during the winter and can therefore be used safely. In this sense, Resia Lake is an absolute exception in the Southern Alps.

S. Valentino Lake is also perfectly suitable for ambitious snow kiters looking for action and new challenges. Here you can allow yourself to be taken by the wind over snow-covered areas.

The international Snowkite Open takes place at the Resia Lake.

Beginners are well looked after in the Kite Schools, where everything about snow kiting is taught.
