Recreation and Nature in Venosta Valley

The Natural Landscape of Venosta Valley

The many-faceted natural landscape of Venosta Valley with its impressive mountain chains is ideal for active holidays full of variety below snow-covered mountain peaks, 3,000 metres high. More than 300 days of sun a year make it possible to be active outdoors in both the summer and in the winter.

Highly popular: hiking to the simple mountain inns and huts in the region. The Venosta Valley High Altitude Trail is one of the area’s most appealing routes. The trail, over 100 km long, passes by rustic farmsteads, makes use of the characteristic hiking paths along old irrigation channels – called Waalwege – and goes along the Monte Sole/Sonnenberg mountain, rich in species.
