The cultivation of fruit and vineyards characterize the valleys of South Tyrol. The local vineyards and apple orchards stretch across the entire Venosta Valley. Apricots

also grow on the loose and dry soil between Malles/Mals and Silandro/Schlanders. The Venosta Valley strawberries
are also very valued. The berries from the high Alpine Martello/Martelltal Valley are particularly rich in aroma and taste. The cultivation areas are situated at different altitudes and allow for varied and large harvests.
