The Fishing club of Merano/Merano
holds the fishing rights for the Adige river. In total, the rights cover the Venosta Valley region from the outflow at S. Valentino lake up to Tell/Töll including all the river’s tributaries. The rights also extend for a further 7km along the Passirio river at Merano, giving a total of over 150 km of regulated rivers and streams in the Venosta Valley-Merano area. The Ortles region, too, offers the perfect conditions for a relaxing few hours at the water. Its lakes are home to sea and rainbow trout and to mirror, grass and scale carp; also to be found there are tench, perch, eel, sturgeon and whiting.
Since the lakes and rivers of the Ortles region lie directly on the bike route from Resia/Reschen to Merano
, they are also easily reachable by bike.
A national Italian fishing license costs 35€ and is valid for 10 years. The license can be bought at the Fishing Shop in Castelbello/Kastelbell
