Climbing on artificial towers or on frozen waterfalls is not only reserved for extreme alpinists who are looking for thrills and vertical challenges in the Ortler area. Experienced ice climbers as well as beginners will find numerous top spots where they can experience the fascination of this sport.

Adventurous ice climbers can try their hand at the artificial ice towers in Sulden, but also at frozen waterfalls such as the Legerwand or directly on the mountain massif. Here you can experience the fascination of the frozen vertical wall on your own or together with a mountain guide. Ice climbers receive a course in ice climbing from the Ortler Alpine School, so that they can handle ice axes and crampons correctly. The necessary equipment can also be rented at the Alpine School.
