The “Kirchsteige” served as pathways leading to locations at higher altitudes and are a feature of the area surrounding Laces/Latsch. There are several types of old roads such as those paved in stone, trails with resting spots, sunken roads or those with solidly built, wooden fences. In their day, these roads facilitated the connection on foot between the remote mountain localities. In the old days, remote and sunny high-altitude villages such as Platz, Annenberg and San Martino in Monte, could only be reached on foot.

These trails are also noted for the spectacular surrounding landscape and breath-taking views of the mountains.

The trails of Platz, San Martino and Annerberg are among the most popular.
