In San Martino in Monte/St. Martin im Kofel
(at 1,740 m), on the Saturday preceding or just following the Day of St. John the Baptist, there is the annual rogation to Our Lady in the Senales Valley, passing Niederjöchl (at 2,662 m) through the Valley of Penaud up to Our Lady.
As in the Senales Valley, the rogation processions have always been held to ward off bad weather and other natural disasters that might damage the farms. The women taking part in the processions collect small purple flowers (the so-called "Spaiks") along the way, intertwining them in twigs of larch to make rogation crowns.
