2,000 family farms harvest 200,000 tonnes of apples each year in the Venosta Valley. 300 days of sunshine, less than 500 mm of annual precipitation, large swings in temperature between day and night, and an elevation between 500 and 1,100 metres a.s.l. give Venosta apples their special crunchiness and excellent taste.
